Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your Native Expeditions guide will collect you early from Kampala or Entebbe for the journey to Bwindi.
Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographs, refreshments and optional souvenir shopping. Continue to Mbarara for lunch before travelling through the hills of southwestern Uganda.
Arrive at Bwindi in the evening and settle into your lodge.
Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing.
Accompanied by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, enter the rainforest to search for a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking time varies depending on the gorillas’ location, terrain and weather conditions.
Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted time observing and photographing them before returning to the park headquarters.
The afternoon is reserved for relaxation. An optional community experience may be arranged depending on the duration of the trek.
Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast before beginning the return journey through southwestern Uganda.
Stop for lunch along the way before continuing to Kampala, Entebbe International Airport or another agreed drop-off location.
Because this is a long transfer, travellers departing Uganda should book a late-evening flight or arrange an additional night in Entebbe.
