Discover Tanzania
Tanzania is Africa on an immense scale. The Serengeti appears to run forever, the Ngorongoro Crater gathers wildlife inside an ancient volcanic bowl and elephants wander beneath the baobabs of Tarangire. Farther south and west, vast parks offer a quieter, wilder kind of safari.
Beyond the plains stands Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Beyond the mainland lies Zanzibar, where warm Indian Ocean water, spice plantations and Swahili history invite you to trade safari dust for bare feet. Few destinations offer such a complete sense of journey.
Why Visit Tanzania?
Tanzania is made for travellers who want space, spectacle and strong contrasts. It is exceptional for first safaris, Migration-focused journeys, honeymoons, photographers, family adventures and repeat visitors ready to explore less-travelled southern parks.
Most Popular Activities in Tanzania
Follow the Great Migration
Trace the annual movement of wildebeest and zebra through the Serengeti ecosystem. Calving, rutting, long columns on the move and river crossings each belong to different regions and seasons, so the journey should be designed around the experience you value most.
Classic Serengeti game drives
Search the plains and rocky kopjes for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and immense herds. Even away from the Migration, the Serengeti’s resident wildlife and sense of openness are extraordinary.
Descend into Ngorongoro Crater
Travel down the crater wall into a compact, wildlife-rich ecosystem. Grassland, marsh and woodland support an impressive variety of animals, including the possibility of seeing endangered black rhino.
Explore Tarangire’s baobab country
Move through a landscape shaped by ancient baobabs, seasonal wetlands and the Tarangire River. During the dry season, large numbers of animals gather around dependable water, including celebrated elephant herds.
Climb Mount Kilimanjaro
Journey through rainforest, heath, alpine desert and Arctic-like summit terrain to reach the roof of Africa. The climb requires preparation and patience, but the changing landscapes and final sunrise are unforgettable.
Retreat to Zanzibar
Swim, sail and unwind beside turquoise water, then wander through the carved doors and winding lanes of Stone Town. Zanzibar blends beach time with food, history and living Swahili culture.

Best Time to Visit Tanzania
June to October: The dry season brings excellent general wildlife viewing, easier road conditions and rewarding safari combinations across northern and southern Tanzania.
January to March: The southern Serengeti and Ndutu region usually host the Migration’s calving season, bringing newborn wildebeest and heightened predator activity.
July to October: A commonly sought window for northern Serengeti river crossings. Herd movements depend on rainfall and grazing, so exact locations and dates cannot be guaranteed.
November to May: The green season transforms the plains with fresh growth, dramatic skies and superb birdlife. April and May receive heavier rainfall in many areas and some camps close temporarily.
